Unboxing: Turntable Kitchen

My partner subscribed to the monthly box Turntable Kitchen. Each month you are sent a box including an exclusive vinyl pressing, three recipe cards and a pantry item that is used in one or more of the recipes. It’s a great way to discover new music and vinyls as well as recipes that go great together! What you’re supposed to do is put on the music, make the dishes and have a wonderful night! This is the June box which is also known as TK045: Mid-Summer Feast with the vinyl EP Imposter by Harry Edwards.

It’s not available in every city but they have been expanding. My partner and I got a voucher to try our first box and we got 3 meals for 2 people. Now we’ve cooked the meals and eaten them, will we continue subscribing? Keep reading to find out!

This dinner delivery craze, HelloFresh, started in Sydney and we finally have it in my city now too. This Australian service sends you 3 to 5 meals a week, but not like Lite n Easy in frozen packets, instead you get sent fresh vegetables, proteins, herbs and spices with weekly recipe cards to prepare and cook your own dinners. Since my partner and I like cooking but get a bit lazy when it comes to recipe planning and shopping, we thought we’d try this service out. You can get 2 or 4 people options as well as a vegetarian option and additional juicing and fruit boxes.

Adelaide Hello Kitty Cafe

A couple of months ago the Hello Kitty Cafe opened in my city, Adelaide. I believe it is official and comes from Hong Kong originally. This is the first one they’ve opened in Australia! Why they chose my city instead of Sydney or Melbourne, who knows, but I’m happy they did! It’s located in Chinatown on the main stretch and is decorated inside and out in full Hello Kitty glory! It’s open 7 days, I believe, and has many drinks (coffee, tea) and desserts to choose from! As well as some sandwiches and wraps for something savoury. They also have a special cake service for birthdays, weddings, etc.
