Etude House Soft Clay Pack

Since Glam Glow hit the spotlight, clay masks have been all the rage. I’ve been trying out this more affordable Asian one, Etude House Play Therapy Soft Clay Mask (Pore and Sebum Care). It’s a fraction of the cost and makes my skin feel smooth! Perfect for that pampering session!

Made from Brazilian soft clay this product is aimed at reducing the size of pores and amount of sebum (oiliness). Clay masks altogether are great for cleaning out impurities on the surface of the skin and tightening the pores.

It comes in an easy to use tube so you can squeeze out the perfect amount instead of needing to dig into a jar. Both more convenient and sanitary!

The directions state to use after toner but I prefer to use it as a first cleansing step. Apply to face and let it sit for 5-10 minutes before rinsing off in lukewarm water. It goes hard and you can feel it on the skin although it is not painful! I recommend doing this right before a shower so after your time is up you can just rinse it off under the shower head. So much easier especially if you hate the feeling of splashing water on your face like I do! It rinses off incredibly easy and your face feels so smooth and soft afterwards!

I follow up with my second cleansing product, usually a very gentle foaming cleanser, that I keep in the shower. The face is clean without feeling squeaky! I apologise for the image quality on the after – I am saving up for a new camera! Although I still have trouble spots they feel more smooth and the face is brightened. Etude House suggests doing this 1 to 2 times a week. I think it’s definitely gentle enough that this is okay but listen to what your skin tells you about how often you can do a treatment like this! Everyone is different. :)

I really like this product! It’s cheap, affective and easy to use! The packaging brightens my bathroom, too. You don’t find a lot of cute bright green products. You can purchase this directly from Etude House for US$10.40!

Let me know what clay masks you enjoy using! This was my first post for Skincare January! It’s a new year and a perfect time for new skincare! Next week I’ll review a great Moisturiser followed after that by a Toner!

I’m sorry for my late reply! I think this mask is actually really gentle. Though it goes firm it instantly washes off in water – so no tugging. So I would say it’d be okay for drier skin although it’s worth testing it on a small area first. I also know there are sample sachets of this product out there but not sure where.
